One of the key objectives of the #ACCESS project is to present, in a clear and accessible way, the legal and administrative obstacles that affect the everyday lives of people living, working or carrying out professional activities in the Hungarian-Slovak border region. As part of this work, new flowcharts have been prepared to illustrate the steps involved in the recognition of professional experience required for leading archaeological excavations in the context of Hungary and Slovakia.

The visual materials show what documents need to be submitted, what procedural steps must be followed, and which competent bodies decide on the recognition of professional experience as an archaeological excavation leader on the two sides of the border. One of the flowcharts summarises the recognition procedure in Slovakia for professionals with excavation-leading experience obtained in Hungary. It covers, among others, the required qualifications, professional experience, fieldwork and documentation requirements, as well as the role of professional assessment and decision-making.

The other flowchart presents the process of having Slovak qualifications and excavation-leading experience recognised in Hungary. It clearly indicates which documents the applicant needs to submit for the recognition of qualifications and for the verification of professional eligibility, how the professional assessment by the Excavation Committee takes place, and how, following the decision, the applicant may be included in the list or register of excavation leaders. Professional experience as an excavation leader may be recognised in connection with the establishment of an institutional employment relationship or a service contract, as part of the submission of an excavation application.

The aim of the flowcharts is to make authorisation and recognition procedures more transparent for professionals, while also supporting the relevant institutions and decision-makers in identifying obstacles more precisely. Through these materials, the #ACCESS project contributes to making cross-border employment simpler, more predictable and more accessible.
