Saar-Lor-Lux brings together local producers and products from the Saar-Lor-Lux region (Saarland, Lorraine, Luxembourg and Rhineland-Palatinate). The shop in Saarbrücken and the website maintained by the organisation collect and market local products on a cross-border basis within a radius of 150 kilometres from the regional centre. The shop offers its customers more than 500 local products, which can be purchased in the local shop or online. The catalogue published on the website allows you to search for products by price, producer and special diet. In addition to the ready-made products, fresh produce can also be purchased, but most of these are available for pre-order and in-store pick-up only.
All products that can be ordered online are available to be picked up and tasted at their store in Saarbrücken. They also organise special tasting events for groups as a way of getting to know local products (wine, cheese, gin, beer, coffee, oil) as a community programme.
On the website, recipe ideas are carefully compiled to give guidance on how to use local ingredients. This is complemented by an online magazine, which provides a forum for reporting on major events in the area and local produce.
The company is proud of being personally acquainted with the producers of all the goods it sells. They are in contact with more than 40 local producers, whose contact details are published in a map database.[1] The collection of local producers and products is still ongoing, and potential suppliers and raw materials can be suggested via a dedicated interface.
