#ACCESS – Reference group in Rajka

Workshop meeting

Date: 16 October 2024

Location: Rajka

With the support of the Slovakia-Hungary Interreg VI-A Programme, the CESCI and CESCI Carpathia associations are implementing a project aimed at uncovering and eliminating legal and administrative obstacles that exist along the border and make life and cooperation difficult for people living and commuting along the border. During the 6-year duration of the #ACCESS project, the partners strive to eliminate as many of these obstacles as possible. To this end, a number of activities are carried out.

Since cross-border mobility is most active in urban areas, the two partners organised workshops in the spring of 2024 with the involvement of the mayors of the cities and neighborhoods concerned, where they tried to uncover the most frequently occurring problems. In the second round, the participants will try to move these problems towards a solution.

Planned agenda:

  • Mayor’s greeting – Mayor Vince Kiss
  • Experiences of the first round of the project’s workshop – director Mátyás Jaschitz, CESCI
  • Presentation of the baum-cityregion initiative that supports mobility across the Austrian-Slovak border – coordinator Pavlá Štefkovičová, City Strategy and Analysis Department of Bratislava Capital Municipality
  • Discussing the creation of a possible Slovak-Hungarian coordination organisation
  • Lunch
