Between 2017 and 2020, the TransFoVAAL project sought to integrate the agri-food training systems along the French-Italian border. The investment is justified by local labour market needs, particularly in the areas of dairy production, meat processing, fruit and vegetable growing. There is a particular demand in the border region for training courses that are flexible and can be completed on an individual basis, with the knowledge acquired being transferable across the border.

Within the framework of the project, comparative studies of vocational training in the two countries were carried out, which can serve as a basis for the creation of a joint training system. By identifying and sharing good practices, methods such as distance learning and early work experience were also taken into account. The training methodology is in line with the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET), which ensures the international recognition of qualifications. The new training model created in this way has also been presented to other institutions in the border region as a good example.
