Poor condition of the Rajka border check point

The reported obstacle is not legal, but financial in nature. Currently, there is no legal obstacle to demolishing the deteriorated building. Pursuant to the Schengen Agreement, the possibility of temporarily reinstating border control must be ensured in all cases. For this, however, the maintenance of the building itself is neither mandatory nor necessary. At the same time the liquidation is an extremely expensive task, since in addition to the buildings visible on the surface, these crossings also contain infrastructure elements that are hidden, such as the underground tanks in which the possibly confiscated fuel was stored, thus complex recultivation is needed.
