The INTERNOVAMARKET_FOOD project was implemented between 2015 and 2020, in the framework of the Spanish-Portuguese Interreg programme 2014-2020. The initiative aims to increase the competitiveness of local food production companies, internationalise them (boost the cross-border economy), expand their production capacity and improve their capacity for innovation. The three pillars of the project are the promotion of local food products on international markets, the introduction of technological innovations and the learning of more effective marketing activities.
Entering the external market (across the border) is based on the principle of complementarity, complementing the services and products available there. This will further expand the food value chains in the border region, creating new products and making them more competitive.[1]
