The Kayak Tour Limburg (KTL) organises water tours on the Meuse River, on the Belgian-Dutch border. The 6.5 km route between the Belgian towns of Uikhoven and Kotem can be covered by kayak, canoe or raft. Longer distances can be rafted on request.
For those interested, a list of criteria to be taken into account when rowing was provided. As the paddling takes place on a border river and the organisation is based in Belgium, KTL specifically requests that all participants try to get out on the left (Belgian) bank of the river in case of unexpected events. The rescue can be carried out more easily from there. It is also pointed out that participation in the programmes is at the participants’ own risk. The use of life jackets and swimming certificate is compulsory. Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited. The groups of young people must be accompanied by at least one adult. As the water level of the river can change rapidly due to an unexpected thunderstorm, the tour can be interrupted at any time in case of an emergency.
