The BEDUN project, implemented from 2020 to 2023, aims to develop educational services and activities for the development of children with SEN. The cooperation supported by the 2014-2020 Romania – Ukraine ENI CBC programme has three main objectives.
The first is the compilation of technical material to serve as a basis for organising activities to promote integration and rehabilitation. In addition, good practices have been collected and knowledge transferred in order to properly assess current challenges and possible solutions. An Inclusive Centre for children with SEN was established, which has led to the renewal of the schools’ infrastructure and equipment.[1] Among other things, a speech therapy laboratory, a sports field and a gym was added to infrastructural development.
This was also linked to the development of teachers’ professional skills. The programmes provided teachers a better understanding of the needs of children with special educational needs and have enabled them to learn new development methods. They also had the opportunity to develop a new cooperation strategy. [2]
