On September 25, 2026, an expert online training session titled “The Gemini Tool in Cross-Border Cooperation Practice” took place. Organized as part of the #ACCESS project by Ing. Juraj Majcher — Head of the EDIH Cassovium Office at the Institute of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, UPJŠ in Košice — the event focused on the practical application of artificial intelligence to overcome legal and administrative barriers in the Slovak-Hungarian border region.

Participants learned how to utilize the advanced Google Gemini language model in their daily project work. Assoc. Prof. Ľubomír Antoni guided the attendees through five segments of the training program, ranging from secure prompting and working with extensive multilingual documents (SK/HU/EN) and integration with the Google Workspace environment, to the creation of custom specialized assistants (“Gems”) and the use of autonomous agents.

Key topics and practical demonstrations:

  • Working with extensive documentation: Utilizing a large context window to analyse and compare Interreg manuals, calls for proposals, and legislative texts without the need to split them into smaller parts.
  • Specialized Gem for #ACCESS: A demonstration of the “Obstacle Analyst” custom assistant, which helps categorize questionnaire responses, compare Slovak and Hungarian legal regulations, and prepare background materials for government ministries.
  • Google Workspace environment: Direct integration of Chat with Drive and Gmail to enable the rapid extraction of tasks from project communications.
  • Data protection and verification: A focus on security when using work accounts, the anonymization of personal data, and the necessity of having experts verify facts and legal outputs.

The concluding discussion addressed practical experiences, the specifics of Slovak-Hungarian translation, and the integration of Gemini Notebooks with Gemini Gem for working with verified project resources.
