Advancing cross-border accessibility: News about the #ACCESS project

31 March 2026

This year, we have continued the legal accessibility work started within the framework of the #ACCESS project. Over the past three months, in addition to continuing efforts to remove legal and administrative barriers, we reported on the project’s progress to the programme’s Monitoring Committee and, together with our Slovak partner, planned our joint work for the coming years.

The project’s activities and the results achieved so far were officially presented on the 23rd of March at the Monitoring Committee (MC) meeting of the Hungary–Slovakia Interreg Programme. During the presentation, we outlined the steps already taken and planned regarding the selected barriers, and also provided an opportunity for the Committee members to actively influence the accessibility process.

To maintain closer partnership cooperation, we held an online professional meeting on the 25th of March with colleagues from our Slovak partner, CESCI Carpathia. The focus of the discussion was refining the joint methodology for removing barriers, as well as aligning strategic and operational tasks for the upcoming period.

Professional work also continued during the first months of the year. Our obstacle-reporting platform remains active, through which people living in the border region can report legal or administrative obstacles they encounter in their daily lives that affect their lifestyle, employment, education, and cross-border mobility. In addition, we have been working intensively on accessibility activities in areas including healthcare, short supply chains, tourism, as well as education and the labour market.
