The Tr3s local project, which supports the production and marketing of local products in rural areas, was implemented during the 2014-2020 period of the POCTEFA Interreg programme. The project, which lasted three years (2018-2020), gave local products a coherent image, improved their quality and accessibility, and deepened integration with different territorial actors (e.g. producers in neighbouring countries, accommodation providers, restaurants, shops).
The improvements include the creation of a common website (marketing system) that provides an overview of all local producers and products. Producers have received personalised advice to help them learn more about marketing activities, economical operation, adapting to customer needs and successful sales at local level. Representatives of related sectors (e.g. restaurants, tourism professionals, retailers) were also involved to establish personal contacts with producers. The results achieved and the importance of local products were presented at school events to raise awareness among younger generations of the importance of eating locally produced food.
