The Euro-Neisse-Ticket+ system brings together the services of public transport companies in the Czech-Polish-German tri-border area. The ticket system allows the use of a single ticket on all three sides of the border area. The cooperation has been built up gradually, dating back to the accession of the Czech Republic and Poland to the EU in 2004. The Regional Transport Association (ZVON) on the German side (in the districts of Görlitz and Bautzen) has gradually extended the scope of its one-day ticketing to the other side of the German border. Today, the cooperation covers 17 companies and 223 train, bus and tram lines. With a valid Euro-Neisse-Ticket+, the passenger can use the entire ZVON network (with free movement within the districts of Bautzen and Görlitz and within the city of Görlitz), while on the other side of the border he can only use certain lines and trains. The list of Czech and Polish zones is presented on the map published on the website.
The Euro-Neisse-Ticket+ is mainly for tourist purposes, as tickets can only be purchased for one, three or five days. Weekly, monthly or annual passes are not available. If you are travelling with a bicycle or a pet, you must buy a supplementary ticket. Tickets can only be purchased on the spot, at designated sales points or on board the vehicle. Tickets always expire at dawn (04:00) on the day following the last day of the journey. Tickets are valid for one to five persons and the number of passengers and the composition of the passengers cannot be changed after the ticket has been purchased. Discounts for children and ticket prices differ on all three sides of the border and have not yet been harmonised.
The operation of cross-border services is the responsibility of ZVON, but no cross-border institutionalised form has yet been established. ZVON has signed a separate agreement with each operator, which is due to the low level of institutionalisation of bus operators in the Polish regions. This in turn makes the coordination of services difficult and complicated.[1]
